・Those who live, work, and study in Higashimurayama City.
・Those who live in the city of Kodaira, Kiyose, Higashikurume, Nishitokyo, and Higashiyamato.
・Your ID card varifying your name and address is required for registration.

Where to return

・You can return materials to any libraries within the city.
・You can return materials to book drops during closed hours.(Except CDs & cassette tapes etc.)
・Materials can be returned to “SANPARUNE” which is located at the West Exit of Higashimurayama Station.

【*Documents regarding to the community and public administration】
 There are relevant materials about the history and public administration of Higashimurayama, Tama region and Tokyo.

【*Newspapers&Magazines】
 There is an area for newspapers and magazines.
 You can read old newspapers in reduced editions at Chuo Library.
 You can borrow back issues of magazines.

【*Materials in foreign languages】
 There are books, newspapers, and magazines etc., mainly in English, Chinese and Korean.

【*CDs & Cassette tapes】
 There is a collection of CDs and cassette tapes in libraries of Hagiyama, Akitsu, and Megurita.

【*Large-typed books】
 There are large-typed books for people with weak sight and the elderly.

【*Area for teenagers】
 There are books regarding to schools, career guidance, hobbies such as music & fasion etc., and paperback books for teenagers.

【*Area for children】
 There are children’s picture books, kamishibai, tales for children, and educational books. Library issues a list of books suitable for each age, hosts story hour, and provides consultation about reading to children.

【*Books regarding to Hansen’s disease】
 There is a special area for books about Hansen’s disease and Zensei-en at Chuo & Akitsu libraries.

【*Other services for people with special needs】
 Books and magazines can be delivered to your address by post.
 There is a mailing service available for recorded books (literature, music, and voice city report etc.,) and reading service for visually-challenged people.

【*Photocopy Service (\10 per copy)】
 Only library materials can be photocopied and used within copyright laws.

・There is a PC connected to internet for Library users in Chuo Library.
